ITS MY COUNTRY, MY WHOLE WORLD I GUESS.
It is one thing to be blessed with natural resources and it is another to have good hearted leaders who actually have the interest of their country in their hearts.
Nigeria as a country is blessed with many natural resources but one thing we aren't blessed with is selfless leaders who are ready to sacrifice for the country.
Nigerian sky is bright and blue, but the many things that it's citizens are facing, is making us not see the beautiful blue sky, but a dark and red sky.
Nobody wants to remain in the country as we all are looking for greener pastures. Even Ghana is becoming a better country than us, yet, we stand boldly to say that we are the giant of Africa.
From my observation, the leadership of Nigeria has been on a constant downhill, starting from the days when military rule was active in the country. Former president Goodluck Jonathan's regime was said to be bad until Former president Buhari became president. Guess what, we now want Buhari because what we are seeing in the current regime, our hands and mouth can not stop shaking and stay still to tell the story complete.
What's the use of democracy? If military rule made things lots more easier for the people. Though military rule has its disadvantages, but from the look of things, I think that is what Nigeria currently needs, a coup to flush out these corrupt people that get fat from the taxes we pay. Look at the wonderful thing President Ibrahim of Burkina Faso is doing.
The Nigerian civil war, also called the Biafra war that happened during the early months of 1967 has impacted the country in a more negative way than a positive one. It started with Ojukwu, but currently, Nnamdi Kalu has been going from one court house to another, just to regain his freedom. From the last one he went to, he was accused of being a terrorist.
Contextualizing Biafra war, the current happenings in Nigeria did not start today. What if Nigeria gave us Biafra? Wouldn't it have been good and today, everyone would love in peace?
During the Biafra Vs Nigeria war, many people lost their lives in the battle field. Innocent citizens also died as a result of either war, or chronic starvation. That's why when a medic is explaining about vitamin deficiencies, they will use the picture of a black kid with big stomach and thin limbs, as their visual aid.
Today, the citizens are still suffering from unknown gun men who are terrorizing the country. The fighting and killings has claimed the lives of many people. Last 2 years or so, there was a big shooting in the current city I reside in. This shooting claimed the lives of many people.
The same thing happened early this year, when unknown gun men killed soldiers that are stationed in a check point that is close to the shared boundary between Abia state and imo state. The boundary is called "Onu imo."
I ask again, what if the people of Biafra were allowed to become Biafra? Would there be all these killings? Would innocent people lose their lives to something they probably know nothing about? Personally, I don't really care who has what, if Biafra comes or not, all I want is for these kids, the new generation to have a peaceful and free Nigeria to grow in.
Honestly, I don't really know if there is any good thing that has happened in my country, Nigeria. I can't actually think of none. The only good thing I can think of is the removal of fuel subsidy, but, instead of it to have good impact, the lack of proper planning and implementation has caused more harm than good.
The only way I can be assured of change in this country is if these myopic, no blind, leaders are purged out of the political system of Nigeria. Let them be in retirement home and enjoy the care of a nurse instead of running a whole country in their old age.
Thank you for reading.

Our country is blessed but our political seats are cursed. Its funny how every leader we elect goes up there and becomes a beast.
I think I agree with you, the only way this country can be purged again is by wiping out all those leaders.
Politician and the leader of the county are the main pillar in the development of the county. The corruption is the cancer which has expended everywhere and we in India also facing his in huge amount. Hope the things will change and we will see our countries in the race of developed countries.
