El baile del Mono
The most famous celebration in my town takes place every December 28. No one knows exactly how or when it started, however, that hasn't stopped the celebration and festivities on that day. a succession of folkloric groups interpret the same song with different lyrics from 10 am. the rhythm is so sticky that it encourages dancing, which is very simple, just line up pulling and pushing your partner in front.
Several years ago, the then governor built a plaza or park exclusively for this festivity. Due to the growing number of people who came. I went with my mom and we got there early. Some of my students and colleagues visited the town to celebrate.
One of the characteristics of this day is alcoholic beverages: it is almost mandatory. Many take the opportunity to drink until they drop.
Last year was a good year, hope this will be even better.

nobody knows exactly why the monkey was used as a representative figure of the dance. Because there are no monkeys here. However, it fits well with the idea of fun.
