Opera has introduced a browser for Web 3.0 with a cryptocurrency wallet

The Norwegian company Opera announced that its Crypto Browser Project will be released in beta in a few months and will have built-in functions for integration into Web 3.0. The new "cryptocurrency browser" Opera will be available for Windows, Mac and Android users. The new project is positioned as a tool to "accelerate the evolution of the Internet," the company said in its blog. Crypto Browser is designed to work with decentralized applications, the announcement says. The product integrates access to the latest news about the cryptocurrency market, the upcoming distribution of tokens, a calendar of events, information about crypto communities, educational content, podcasts and videos. Using the browser, users will not only be able to check the prices of cryptocurrencies, but also have access to dApps through the built-in wallet. It will integrate support for several blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Celo and Nervos. The non-custodial wallet will support ETH, ERC-20, ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens. Its owners will be able to transfer cryptocurrencies and NFT directly to the recipient. Crypto Browser also promises a special clipboard in order to safely copy/paste information, for example, cryptocurrency addresses. To develop a new browser, Opera attracted cryptocurrency companies, including Polygon, Solana, Nervos, Celo, Unstoppable Domains, Handshake and ENS. They promise to expand the list of partners in the near future. The developer is interested in increasing the number of blockchains and tokens available to users in order to facilitate the integration of the browser into Web3.0. In 2020, Opera added the ability to purchase ETH and BTC for US residents via Apple Pay and using credit cards in the mobile versions of its browser on iOS and Android. In 2019, Opera developers added the TRX token to the list of cryptocurrencies supported by the browser. In 2018, Opera announced the release of a version of its web browser for Android with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet.
