My Actifit Report Card: June 29 2025

Hey Actifitters,

Like I said many times, yard work, especially mowing the lawn, is really not something I enjoy. But it needs to be done of course, and it was overdue. So yesterday, lots of the activity was focused on that. Le Chat wasn't very supportive but at least she stayed around, inspecting the work from one of her favorite spots on the deck.

I ran out of gas for the mower, so I couldn't finish the whole yard and I will need to work on it some more during the week. Or probably it will wait until the long 4th of July weekend.
After that, I had already stayed long enough in the humid heat for the day, so we waited for later in the afternoon for our long walk with Kaia. The Moon was already high up in the dark blue sky.

We caught the very last sunset colors before going into the forest.

It was already quite dark when we entered the forest, but that's the best time to test night mode on my phone. I think it's actually the most challenging time of the day because the little light remaining can confuse the light sensors for night mode. But in this case, I guess it wasn't bad.

Kaia thinks so too!

Of course, we finished our walk in the neighborhood in complete darkness.

Just a few blocks from home, Kaia indicated something was hiding in the darkness. And indeed, a deer was there just looking at us. Again, with the naked eye, I could barely see it, but with the magic of night mode, here it is:

Once again, the silver lining of yard work is that I got plenty of steps, surely enough to pass the bar again in #poprzeczka competition. I'm hoping this will be sufficient to reach the podium in June, but I'll try to stay a little longer.
