My Actifit Report Card: August 16 2024
Hey Actifitters,
The weather was very rainy yesterday morning but once again it cleared up really nice in the afternoon.
We could still see the rain drops everywhere, but now the sun was shining bright!
But one thing I noticed when we stopped behind the front yard is that the rain didn't stop the mosquitoes. In fact it probably made it worse.
So when we arrived in the forest with Kaia, I already knew we'd only do the short trail.
I just didn't have the will power to fight all these mosquitoes...
I think the amount of tongue sticking out of Kaia's mouth is directly proportional to the temperature. It can get pretty impressive!
After the short trail, we made our usual detour to catch a Cubiverse vault. After all that rain in the morning, kind of weird to see that perfectly clear sky with the last sunset colors.
It was still earlier and brighter than the day before, so I tried again some shots of the Moon. I think I got a few good ones this time.
With the sun down, the temperature went down a little too, and it was a bit more pleasant when we added some distance in the neighborhood.
I tried a few more Moon shots, but like I mentioned yesterday, it can be challenging with other objects in frame when it gets darker. So I took the easy option: wait until full darkness and no other objects. I like it too:
At the end of the day, my step count was better than I expected. Like I said in the past, pacing during phone calls and meetings, when possible, is a good way to rack up additional steps.

Moon shots! Just got to love the bright moon at night. Makes the sky look so much lovelier. Wow it rained there. Wish it would rain some more here. Last week was pretty warm -- not as hot as summer but still enough to cause me heat rashes. No fun. No LeChat? She must be busy being herself. LOL! Wow it's so green everywhere there now. I wonder how winter will be. Guess we'll find out in a few months. Happy new week ahead!

Yep, Moon shots have become some of my favorites. Just a few more days before the Super blue Moon!
Wow, still so hot out there? It is still hot here too but I'm sure nothing in comparison. The rain actually makes it worse, so humid... At least the nights are cooler, and next week it gets chilly, yay!!
Le Chat has been hiding more these days, she's around but just doesn't stay long enough for photos. That's just Le Chat !lolz
Yeah, so much rain this summer, it is so green, almost like a tropical jungle! If the winter is cold enough, I hope we get just as much snow! Unfortunately, the past winters have all been quite mild, with just a few real cold days.

Thanks! My phone makes it almost easy for Moon shots. Not much editing actually, although I do often use my phone 'portrait' mode that automatically blurs everything around the main subject (I noticed it failed a bit around Kaia's face). Then just the 'Pop' or 'Accentuate' looks in Snapseed, and that's it. Although for Moon shots, it's so bright that all predefined looks usually fail. Maybe a bit more 'Warmth' so the Moon color looks more realistic, but even then it's not always possible.
