My Actifit Report Card: July 13 2024
Hey Actifitters,
I had a plan yesterday to get plenty of steps for the #Macfit final: yard work. Like I mentioned, this is not an activity that I particularly enjoy, but it's necessary and it always brings lots of steps. But that plan didn't work at all! Just like Le Chat, the humid heat destroyed all my motivation!
After a few minutes mowing the lawn, I just decided it could wait a few more days, and went back inside. I did try to work on another dreaded activity: house clean up. Much worse than yard work, but also surprisingly efficient to rack up steps. As for the outdoor time, it will be mostly reduced to multiple breaks in the yard. Le Chat needed to rest from all that doing nothing...
But she did move when we started our daily walk with Kaia. Even on the laziest day, we can't skip it. Once again, Kaia and Le Chat started their exploration together behind the front yard.
Then we went to the forest of course. But as soon as we got there, Kaia made it clear again she didn't want to walk much more. Fine by me since the mosquitoes were once again swarming us.
So we walked a little bit along the forest edge and started on our way back.
The sunset was starting, but cutting our walk short left me plenty of daylight for a bike ride later.
When we got home, we were again greeted by Le Chat. It's so funny when she does that and follow along for the very last part of our walk.
My bike ride was pretty much the same as last time. Not super long, but a good work out in spite of the heat. And of course, also a good opportunity to catch some nice colors at the end of the sunset.
I made my usual stop along the path. I'm not sure why but I like this little pond.
The ducks were really having fun.
Finally in the evening, even if the temperature didn't decrease much, we went for a few more loops under the Moon.
And that was it for the day. In spite of a serious lack of motivation, and a complete change of plan, I managed to get plenty of steps. I believe it was enough for #Macfit, but I'll need to confirm. I don't think I could have mustered up the energy to do anymore anyways.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.

Kaia and LeChat are truly adorable. Good thing you can go biking when it's too hot for long walks. So nice you have ducks on the pond. I think that's so cool. Hopefully you'll get around the yard work soon. Happy new week ahead!

Thanks!
Yes, a bike ride is the perfect activity when it's too hot for walking or running (and yes, 'too hot' can mean very different temperature for different people, or dog...). You still sweat like crazy, but at least the wind makes it bearable.
No yard work yet, I doubt I will find the motivation before next week end. So lazy...
Hope you have a great new week ahead, !ALIVE
