Vitalik Buterin on TIME Magazine is Pretty Legendary

I have to say I never expected to see this beautiful man on the cover of TIME magazine. I guess it was about time though for his story to be told. He kinda helped shape the whole crypto industry.

What a title. It makes sense really. Vitalik Buterin is one of the most well known figures in crypto. He is the mastermind behind Ethereum, which he started building very young. This TIME article takes us through his upbringing very briefly. He's a peculiar fellow, I have to say. Watching him in interviews is quite the spectacle. His high level intelligence combined with his quirky mannerisms make it very interesting. This guy wears the most legendary clothing too. Usually something with rainbows and unicorns. Hell, he even wore a bear suit to a conference. What a humble billionaire. He dropped out of college in 2013 to create Ethereum. The internet of blockchain technology. He saw something way past what others were able to even imagine at the time. Using blockchain technology for an endless amount of different things rather than just a money system.

He set out to create an open-source blockchain that programmers could built programs and applications on freely. The really amazing part is that I actually believe him when he says he didn't do this for the money. He clearly doesn't care about money even though he's one of the billionaires. I love that the article highlights how little of a shit he gives about what people might think. He doesn't dress like your typical thought leader. He doesn't make eye contact when talking and often stumbles over his words. That's just who he is. Vitalik is a very unique individual that has a brain larger than any of us could imagine. I mean, look at the dome on that guy lol. I had to. I have nothing but respect for him, so I'll join him in laughing at himself. He gets a lot of hate on the internet and got the same growing up but he takes none of it to heart.

Hell, he's such a legend he even Tweeted and encouraged people to read the comments on Twitter. I have to say, some of them did make me giggle. I'm just glad he's self aware and enough of an adult to laugh instead of getting offended by the comments. He clearly knows he's a fuckin legend.

I agree 1000%. Be yourself and don't give a shit what other think. Professionalism is such a dumb concept. Just be a decent human and do you. We don't need to wear suits and ties for the cameras. It's 2022. Go fuckin live a little. Anyway - Vitalik has changed the lives of many by creating the Ethereum blockchain. He's changed the way businesses operate, the way things are verified, the way supply chains are managed, and even how a lot of people make money. The explosion of the Ethereum blockchain and the emergence of technologies like Decentralized Finance and NFTs has taken the world by storm. This has created a big problem for the OG smart contract blockchain though - there's too many people using it in its current state.

This is where Ethereum's next version comes into play, formerly dubbed "Ethereum 2.0". This is going to be the most monumental upgrade to the Ethereum blockchain that's going to disable the Proof of Work mining algorithm. It will Switch the chain to Proof of Stake consensus by merging with the final iteration of the Pre-Merge consensus layer. Make sense? Maybe that was a shitty explanation. Basically, no more mining. Transactions will be validated by Proof of Stake validators. Anyone can participate by staking 32 ETH or throwing ETH into a staking pool. This is going to increase scalability by insane amounts. Finally the blockchain will be ready to rival the likes of VISA in terms of transactions per second. Hopefully the fees will go down at some point too. Vitalik and the Ethereum developers are going to change everything with the merge of the Ethereum blockchain. I believe that it could create problems for layer 2 solutions that were built literally to solve the main net's problems. Will Polygon and Arbitrum still be relevant if the cost of use and transaction speed is met by the layer 1?

But Vitalik is a fuckin legend. Reading the TIME article really made me respect him even more. Imagine someone who has never heard of cryptocurrency reading this issue. It would definitely get them thinking. So many people read TIME. What a time to be alive.
