Snoop Dogg's Latest NFT Music Project - Ape Drops

Snoop Dogg has slowly become the face of NFTs and the "metaverse". He has a mansion in The Sandbox and is the famous Cosomo de Medici on Opensea with an insane NFT collection.

Ape Drops

Snoop D O double G is at it again with another mix tape in the Ape Drops series. These are NFT music tracks that have very limited quantities. He drops these tracks as NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain via OpenSea. The songs are actually really good and with these not being released in any other way (aside from someone stealing the the file and reuploading it), they could be considered rare. In order to listen to the song without having to try and find it via a copy on youtube, you need to own the NFT.

As far as utility for the NFTs, it's really just a song you can listen to. These songs are largely focused on NFTs and crypto with that classic Snoop Dogg feel. There's songs featuring Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Mr. Cap, and more. There's even an art collection. These drops are strictly for $APE holders though so don't think you're just gunna go grab one on OpenSea with ETH. The listings on these super basic different websites are in APE but on OpenSea, it shows ETH.

Being that there's no native way to accept APE as a payment method on OpenSea, I guess this makes sense. If you wanna check the different collections out, you can visit the Ape Drops website. The first tape has already sold out but the art series and the latest An 8th tape is available. There's a different number of NFTs available for each song, so the lower supply ones are the ones people are going to be chomping at the bits to flip for a profit. If you wanna see all of the NFTs available in all 3 colections, you can go straight to the Ape Drops OpenSea instead of copying and pasting the contract address from each web page.

I'm not a big fan of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, but I am a huge fan of Snoop Dogg. He's really trying to push the NFT and metaverse concepts into reality. Music is a great industry that is ruined by middlemen and NFT songs/albums can help with that. Am I saying you should spend $300 worth of ETH plus a gas fee to get these things? No. Absolutely not. I am saying though that this could be the future version of collecting vinyl records though. The great part is that these won't degrade over time and can't be damaged.

thats really cool but I really feel like its a gimmick. A really good gimmick but nothing more than something for a rich guy to buy. Nothing to see here in my opinion.

Yeah, while I do see the value in music NFTs, I don't think they should be priced this high. But it is the Dogg so you know.
