Ledger + The Sandbox Crypto Security Education

frens, I constantly write about how important it is that we keep our crypto and NFTs secure. I will never stop promoting security of your assets.

Ledger X The Sandbox

Ledger is a company that I've supported for a long time. Mainly because I find the security of my assets invaluable. When we talk about crypto and being your own bank, part of that is taking security into your own hands. People are just so used to everything being automated and everything being taken care of for them that they don't think about it.

The problem with this way of thinking in terms of cryptocurrency and NFTs is that when your wallet gets drained... There's no customer support number to call, no one to give your money back, and no way to do anything about it. For example - your bank account gets hacked and money gets stolen. What happens? You report the incident, provide proof, and then you get your money back from the bank (eventually).

With cryptocurrency we have to realize that if we want to hold our own assets outside of a bank or company that provides insurance... We have to take security and privacy very seriously. Who you gunna call when your Pudgy Penguin gets phished out of your Metamask? Exactly.

This is why Ledger has partnered with The Sandbox. They aim to build experiences in the metaverse for people to explore and learn about protecting their assets. Thinking about people that are new to the crypto and NFT space right now, you have to realize that a lot of them are just out here doing this shit all willy nilly. Storing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of assets on the Metamask wallet or whatever other hot wallet.

At the Non Fungible Conference in Lisbon, Ledger announced this partnership along with a special edition Ledger Nano S built for NFTs.

Did you listen to @iancr's keynote at @NFCsummit?

If you did, you probably heard some exciting news about Ledger partnering with a little #Metaverse project called @TheSandboxGame...

In the crypto world we often talk about having personal freedom from banks and parties that can control our assets. Well, we've all heard the saying that freedom comes with responsibility. That responsibility is security and it needs to be taken very seriously. You don't wanna be out here signing random ass transactions and approving random shit without at least knowing what your doing. Then it's on you if you mess up.

Crypto security is becoming easier and more affordable. I spent the $100 on a Ledger Nano S quite a few years ago when I started having a substantial amount of crypto assets. When the Nano X came out, I immediately upgraded and have been very happy with it ever since. I know, $100 or $150 sounds like a lot of money but you have to think about it... What is your security worth?

The new Ledger Nano S Plus is only $80! It supports over 100 different cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and it allows you to interact with your favorite dApps in an extremely secure way. People are often turned off by it because they think that if you have assets on a hardware wallet that you can't use those assets for DeFi and other things. That's not the case at all. You can do all of that in a secure manner via the Ledger Live app on your phone or PC.

If you don't already have a hardware wallet, I highly encourage you to hop over to the Ledger website and grab one of these bad bois. If you want bluetooth so you can use it without a cable, grab a Nano X. If you don't care about it being wireless, grab a Nano S Plus.

Stay safe and stay free.

I have a Ledger but I don't really use it like I should. Since I do stuff at home and at work I don't like the idea of having to carry it with me to each location. I think I have the Ledger Nano X.

Never had an experience of this but what if it's lost?

That's what your secret recovery phrase is for :). The ledger comes with a card to write it on and put in a safe place. That way if anything happens to your device, you can recover your wallets on a new device.
