Elon Musk VS. Justin Sun: The Twitter Takeover
Who will win? Will Elon Musk take over Twitter and turn it into his personal playground? Will Justin Sun take over Twitter and force everyone to use TRON? Find out in the next episode...
Twitter Takeover Soon?
Early this morning, Elon Musk tweeted that he has made an offer with a link to his filing with the SEC. It seems he has done a full 180 on his statement that he doesn't want a seat on the board. He'd rather own all the seats on the board and take Twitter private. The giga Chad himself put in an offer to purchase Twitter, yes - all of it at $43.20 per share. This brings his total offer for the company to a whopping $43.2 billion.
This is a 54% premium over the day before his initial investment of 9.1% of the company. He states in his filing that he thinks Twitter should be a platform for free speech around the globe and that he can unlock it's extraordinary potential. He wants to take the company private to "transform it". His tweet has been met with a mixed bag of support and criticism, but he really doesn't give a shit. The internet is his playground.
He even stated in the SEC filing that he would "have to reconsider his investment" if they declined the offer. What a straight power move. "I'll dump all 9.1% of my shares if you decline and wreck your stock price lol".
Shoutout my favorite Twitter account ever: greg coming in with this banger of a meme. No chance Twitter should be sold to Elon for less than $69 billion. It's only fair for the mega troll himself.
Trigger Warning!
All of a sudden, a wild Justin Sun appears and replies to Elon's offer tweet. The lord of bullshittery himself, mr. Justin Sun came in with a staggering offer of $60 per share. This puts his offer well above ole Elon's at a whopping $60 billion. Obviously a missed opportunity to offer $69 billion for the lolz.
I mean, if you're really the ultimate billionaire why not throw in another $9 billion? I have no idea what Justin's net worth is, but he's a serial entrepreneur hellbent on taking over and destroying companies.
While there wasn't an actual filing from Justin (that I know of), he seems to be serious in his offer. He also stated in a reply tweet that he wants to take Twitter offshore and "decentralize it". Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the company moving offshore, but why is it so important? Ohh, yeah right... He's a billionaire crypto bro and he needs to avoid taxes and shit.
If you weren't around back in 2019, Justin executed a full on hostile takeover of Steemit. For those who may be new, or may not know... Hive is a blockchain that was forked out of Steem when this takeover happened. It was a seriously nasty takeover with bribery, collusion, and all kinds of fuckery. Check out this article written by the lovely @shadowspub - Anatomy of Justin Sun's Hostile Takeover of the Steem Blockchain for all the juicy details.
Prior to his hostile takeover of the Steem blockchain and website, he did the same thing to BitTorrent. He bought the company, turned it into a pirated video streaming platform, created a crypto token for it, and ran it into the ground. All the while raking in shitloads of money and looking for the next victim company.
greg got in another jab, referring to TRON as "chuck e cheese token funny money". Good one, greg. You showed him.
I find this whole situation really stupid and funny honestly. Why would either Elon or Justin want to buy the internet's biggest pile of bird shit? Have you ever been on Twitter? That place is awful. Turning Twitter into a crypto-centric platform that allows NFT profile pics isn't anything revolutionary, bois.
I almost want to say "Can someone tell them about Hive?"... But I'm scared Justin will come after us again.
Sorry for triggering anyone.
Who will win?
Thanks for reading! Much love.

I don't think anyone will loan Justin Sun the amount to buy out Twitter based on his current assets.
As for whether or not he could take over Hive, I don't think that would happen. There are just way too many people he would have to contact in order to get enough stake and I doubt many of them have any goodwill towards him either. In the end, I guess another hard fork could be a solution if he did.

I don't think it would be possible to take over Hive since it's way more decentralized than Steem was. Just a funny thought.

I am waiting for the request of Elon Musk to vote for him as a witness), usually this ends the arrival of this usurper.

Hahaha Justin Sun!!
Imagine if Justin Sun bought the company and turned Twitter into a skin of Steem.
Now of course it wouldn't be decentralised or offer freedom of speech because Justin is in total control of the network.
But man, would the situation be wild.
