Communities Are Awesome | Don't Forget About the Rest of Hive Though
Communities on Hive are an incredible way to grow and network.
Don't Get Tunnel Vision
The power of communities here on Hive is pretty incredible and there's tons of them out there. There's all kinds of communities all centered around different interests that people share. Often times we find a community that we love being active in and forget about the bigger picture. I'm guilty of this myself, with the LeoFinance community. I love talking about crypto with other people that love talking about crypto so it was an instant connection.
What I wanted to talk about though is that it's really easy for this to cause tunnel vision. What I mean by that is, sure I spend most of my time in one single community because that's what I like... But I also make it a point to take a step back every day and check out content in all kinds of other communities. There's literally everything on Hive! Wanna see memes? There's memes! Wanna see art? There's art! Wanna read fiction? There's writing communities like The Inkwell!
Something that helps me a lot with this is @dreemport. It's an incredible platform that's being built that helps users get their content in front of fresh eyes and also allows content curators to discover new content.
Engaging in one specific community is fine if you only ever want to do that. I recently wrote a post about Growing on LeoFinance & Hive where I shared a little bit about my journey here. Just by engaging in different communities, participating in different challenges, and join Discord servers... I've been able to make a name for myself and build a bit of a brand.
I'm not trying to say that I have it all figured out or that I'm doing it the only way it can be done. I'm simply sharing what has worked for me in hopes that someone else that may need motivation finds inspiration in my content. That particular post I linked above about my growth journey received the most comments I've ever gotten on a post before. It hit 89 comments! I was beyond ecstatic. Obviously, some of those comments are me responding to others because I respond to every single comment.
My point is - that is a huge achievement for me personally. I've always loved talking to the people that comment on my posts, but this was different. There were tons of comments from different users talking about how they were feeling down or lacking in motivation. Some even talked about their struggles and how they've nearly given up because they never get votes or engagement. Just hearing that my post helped inspire and motivate people brought me immense joy.
Being engaged in different communities and networking has gotten me a lot of places that I never thought I'd be. I just recently became a LeoFinance Ambassador and Tech Support. I just recently started doing a new project from Dreemport to reward the most engaging comments each day. I've been creating content for LeoBacked Investments for a month now, 2 times a week.
This is the type of growth that is invaluable. Not only does it get more viewers to your content, but it helps you build connections for the future. Stop focusing so hard on creating as many posts as you can. Slow down. Take a breath. Go check out some new communities and find some things that interest you. A simple comment on someone's post can literally make their day.
Comments are not just comments here on Hive. Comments are content. Comments can earn rewards just like your well though out posts that you spend tons of time on. Comments allow you to connect with the content creator. Maybe you'll meet someone and spawn your own project together. Maybe you'll be able to join a team and be a part of something that's being built.
I encourage you to take some time today and explore Hive outside of your preferred communities. Go out and make someone's day with an awesome comment. Trust me, it will get you a lot farther than you think. Especially in times where people don't want to think about the crypto market.
It's time to get to the basics. It's time to build.
Thanks for reading! Much love.

Unless you fluke it, communities are safe places where you get your name and rep established. Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely check out @dreemport. One can't get too many eyes on a post!

Absolutely! Can't wait to see you in the dreemport Discord.

Aye to this 100%! We discover new things when we explore and going to different communities can really help in our growth too.

Yep, even just getting outside of our favorite community to see what else is out there is huge.

That's right. I often try my best to check on different communities here in Hive and then go out to Noise & Read daily. It's nice to be out and about :)

This is one of the things I like the most about Hive. You can probably find a community for every niche and in the event that you can't find one, you can go ahead and create it yourself.

Exactly! This is what it's about

Being restrict to one community or trying to be at many simultaneously..... I think both of the strategies are not very smart. Bit by bit, explore a community, make connections and then step into another one.
Engagement is of immense importance in the world of social media blogging. Unless people know you exist, you don't. To gain the visibility there is a need of a lot of efforts.
For sometimes, I have been trying to be more active in engagement but I am not making it upto the mark unfortunately. Some times, I just have a time to either write my post or to engage with others. Chosing either of the two is the loss of other, what do you think @l337m45732 is the best strategy in such a situation?
Well, it was a thought provoking and energizing post.
I don't think choosing to comment is a loss on posting or vice versa. I think there needs to be a balance. You should absolutely be commenting more than posting. Something that helps me with this is the Ecency and LeoFinance mobile apps.

Hmmm.... so whatever time I get, the strategy be more commenting than posting
Engagement is key to growing here on hive, especially if you can't be on a creating spree like me.
Comments are even easily upvoted compared to a blog post. It seems hard at first but with time, you will see how fun it can turn out to be.

Absolutely. It's also much easier to do commenting than posting some times.

I feel like it's the lack of time that causes me to just stay in LeoFinance most of the time. There is so much to do but not enough time. I do try my best to comment on what I can in LeoFinance and the ocassional post in Listnerds.

That's another thing. Hive is huge in terms of content variety. I spend most of my time in LeoFinance but when I have a little extra time I do love to explore.

Love the diversity of the communities. There are so many I feel at home at. As I have multiple disciplines, this comes in handy.
So my posts are diverse but still regular by joining different communities.

variety is important which makes checking out other communities or subjects is important. I don't often think in terms of communities as much as just finding content that is varied. I don't get locked into any one niche but explore different ones.
Yep. Exploring outside of your niche community is important.
