RE: Inside the TON Meme Cinematic Universe: TONtopia, the Memes of the Roundtable, St. Tonians Academy & the Core Projects Building a Legend on TON

Hey @darkflame, thank you so much for reading the blog and for these excellent questions! You're exactly the kind of thoughtful reader we love to see. I'll break it down clearly and simply:
What is TON (TonCoin / GRAM)?
TON is The Open Network — a fast, Telegram-native Layer-1 blockchain. It was originally developed by Telegram and is now fully community-driven. The native token is called TON (recently rebranded in some interfaces to GRAM, but it's the same chain and 1:1). It’s designed for massive adoption: super cheap fees, instant transactions, and seamless integration with Telegram mini-apps, bots, and wallets. That’s why the core of our ecosystem runs so smoothly on Telegram.
Tokenomics, coding language, features?
Most of our flagship projects are Jettons (TON’s version of tokens). They are created with FunC (TON’s smart contract language) or Tact. Features include extremely low gas, built-in sharding for scale, and native support for NFTs, DeFi, and mini-apps. Tokenomics vary by project, but the MOTRT projects are deliberately simple and community-focused (fixed supply, zero or low taxes, heavy liquidity locks).
Memes of the Roundtable (MOTRT) — programmable utility?
MOTRT itself isn’t a token — it’s an alliance/council of individual rugproof projects. Each project has its own token with real utility inside the ecosystem (governance, student currency like $STASH in St. Tonians, rewards, etc.). They are programmable Jettons, so yes — you can build tools, bots, games, or integrations on top of them.
Important note on inclusivity: While our core projects are native to TON, TONtopia, Memes of the Roundtable, and St. Tonians Academy welcome safe, rugproof meme projects from any chain — as long as they are legitimate and not scams. The focus is always on transparency, community, and long-term building.
They are not backed by Bitcoin or other external assets; they are community-driven with value coming from adoption, lore, utility, and locked liquidity.
Immutable or can they be altered? Rugproof claims?
Once deployed and renounced, the contracts are immutable. The “rugproof” label is earned through verifiable on-chain locks (e.g. Baby Lady has ~49% of supply locked for 1–4 years on Ton Raffles and TINU Locker), burned liquidity, and community governance. These are public and auditable — anyone can verify them. The whole point of MOTRT is to only seat projects that have already proven this level of transparency.
Multichain or TON-only?
Our flagship projects are native to TON (Jettons on the TON blockchain) because of Telegram’s 900M+ users and the speed/low fees. However, as noted above, the alliance itself is open to safe projects from other chains that meet the rugproof standards.
We’re a grassroots, lore-rich, long-term community that has been building together for years. The “TON Meme Cinematic Universe” (Reality Drift, St. Tonians Academy, Excalimemes comics, etc.) is the fun wrapper around real on-chain security and utility.
