For keto the key is fat, not just limiting carbs. You may already know this, but I'm just making sure. I've been on a keto diet since early Spring. If you eat more protein than fat, your body will convert it to glucose rather than switching over to ketosis, where you burn fat as energy. For a strict keto diet it needs to be 70% fat, 20% protein and a max of 10% carbs, though many keep it down to 5 or lower. A good way to get more fat in is to add butter or coconut oil to your coffee in the morning. I prefer coconut oil myself, because it adds flavor as well as fat. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Thanks for chiming in. I am upping the fat on everything I eat. I have a big jar of oks tallow, that I use to cook with and add extra fat. I'm off coffee too, going 100 carnivore. Coffee is hard to quit though. You really feel like you're coming off a drug

ferris oh and I wish you luck and am willing you some strength, because breaking free from both coffee and carbs is not easy by themselves, let alone at the same time. I also hope it alleviates your condition.
