FIRE PREVENTION TIPS// CLEANING ACTIVITY FOR THURSDAY 14-3-2024
I'm excited to bring forth this post at this particular time. We are in a season that one must be careful especially in area of dealing with fire. I remember the tragedy that happened with my wife some weeks ago. After cooking from charcoal stove, she brought down the pot using a kitchen rack. Unknown to her the rack caught fire. She went and kept it on the wooden kitchen door. After a while smoke overwhelmed everywhere later the neighbourhood called her attention. Thank God the fire didn't escalate but started eating up the door before water was used to extinguish it.
I want to share some tips to prevent fire.
In an office or organisation notice should be displaced at strategic points to offer guidance on what to do in case of fire outbreak.
Another prevention tips is that those at workplace should be trained and informed what to do in case like this.
Routes, fire detection, evacuation system and procedures must be carefully maintained.
Highly inflammable things should be identified and properly label.
Let me share this story. It was a true life experience. Father to a friend of mine went to farm with his 406 Peugeot car. He parked it few meters away from the farm. After he was done clearing the land, he gathered the dirts and burnt them. He did not know that there dry grasses close to the vehicle. When the bush was burning, he turned towards the direction of his car suddenly it caught fire... before he could arrive, there was nothing he could do than just to look at the scarp left. Please be careful where you park your machines that uses inflammable substance.
