Painting a Scene from Rick and Morty Using the Hatching Technique
About a week ago, I shared a painting I made of Rick Sanchez using the hatching technique. The painting took me hours spread out in days. At the time when I was posting, I was excited by the prospect but was heavily disappointed when I got little to no feedback or curation. The piece was a step towards something I was working on. So as such, on this one, please do share your honest opinion..... thanks in advance.
I'd wanted to (while making this painting) give Morty a kind of Predator look mostly in the hair and a little bit in the costume but hours down the line, I found myself still battling with the background so I went with the traditional wear. The good news is; that with each of these twisted piece I make, I get faster and my approach and strategies become more keen.
The scene (if at all you're a fan) is from the first episode of Rick and Morty where Rick took Morty out of school and told him to gather seeds. While they were at the terminal (because Rick's portal fluid got finished), Rick told Morty to shoot the robots (by this he was referring to bureaucrats)....lol.
In the original shot Morty had a perplexed look but I kind of made it into a serious one.
Do stick with me through this animation build up. I can promise that by the end of the year, you'll be glad you did....
These are the outlines....
Thanks for stopping by.
