Hatching a Portrait

Sometimes last week, I noticed it'd been a while since I shared drawings that I made using the hatching technique. So, after some scrutiny in my gallery, I found this beautiful reference on Pinterest drawn by HolyWiz. The contrast in the drawing was what I paid attention to and in doing so, I noticed how hard it was to get the right amount of depth without harming the all-round smoothness of the drawing.

I'll be spending more time with this technique and seeing how well I can maximize the essentials of the facial features without fully drawing it. Do stop by to check out my progress...
