A Graphite Portrait

I got hold of some portrait with good tones sometime in November last year if memory serves me right. As it so happens I totally forgot about them. But last month while having a random scroll through my gallery I saw some of these and it reignited a flame in my heart.

The need to go all portraity came back again. Sadly, I didn’t arrive at the result I had earlier anticipated but my friends I was close.

your process is pretty particular. do you trace? cuz usually people would use guidelines when they do complete freehand still

No I don’t.
I just take my time and make sure everything is where it should be and I guess after doing that for years, my eyes and hands kind of picked up precision averagely.
