A Graphite Piece

This afternoon I found a very beautiful sketch of a young woman and I was drawn to it. I sharpened my graphite and immediately faced it. The hair contours were particularly of interest to me. I followed them up the best way I could and structured the face sideways.

I honestly didn’t understand why the tones of the paper was different at various points when I took pictures of the making process. I did my best to rotate angles but the same blue effect came popping up. I gave up on that though and concentrated on finishing the piece. And it was marvelous.
