I think we have a wild opinion of warnings, it seems to hurt our ego and then we take them for granted. When we are warned, we feel threatened or belittled. This is not so. And in most cases, we will venture out to do exactly what we were warned not to do in the first place because we want to prove a point.

But in reality, warnings are for our own good. We are warned because someone wants to keep us from danger, hence the warning. It is best to adhere to the warning instead of arguing or debating if the warnings are true or not.

So, when it is time to warn people, do your best to warn them. And try not to be too harsh or critical about your warnings.
