Nationalism simply means exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups.link
Nationalism preaches patriotism. It gives the consciousness of putting the need of your country ahead of yours.
This was the same consciousness some of our heroes had that led to the independence of nations, and also the struggle for freedom from tyranny.
I personally love the idea of nationalism, but it seems these days, people worth dying or fighting for are scarce because while fighting for them they will also be the ones crucifying you in the end.
But all the same, I do not expect the idea of nationalism to die with us, there will be others willing to die for the cause.
