The literal meaning of the prompt is quite straight forward, I was hoping there would be other meaning to the expression but it seems there is none. So, it is basically expressed literally.
The last treasurer is the previous person holding the office of a treasurer, and a treasurer is a person that keeps the treasury.
Whenever treasurer is mentioned, our minds drift to money straight away, and of course it should. I hope the last treasurer was good, and he did his job well?
