A huge length to plant death.

We might say that the person injecting the poison would reconsider, it is not always the case.

Injecting the poison might not be literally, it can be an expression for. Someone who adds more to the problem at hand.
He wants to add to what is already on ground, so he injects the poison. It makes the situation worse ever.
