Robot, AI and Me
A few days ago, quite unexpectedly, I found myself in a discussion, which was heated up by the issue of wasting time on social networks.
A friend who is a serious user (I like to say "big addict") of Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, on whose applications she spends hours scrolling through the content of those whose posts she follows (whether she knows them or not), mentioned me too , who, like her, spends my free time on my mobile phone, on some of my social networks 🙂
Then I had to explain to her the difference between Web2 and Web3, between the freedom of speech on these two generations of social networks, for the impossibility of changing once registered on blockchain and the possibility of centralized deletion of content that is not suitable for the organizations FB or Instagram (She also admitted that she remembers situations when some posts that were directed against the authorities in America were deleted..).
Let me explain to her the concept of monetization, the possibility of Upvote (Like) and Downvote (Dislike), on posts and comments, the option of all communities that exist, let's say right here on Hive, where you can join depending on your interests, wishes and needs. ..
She herself called her Web2 world "somewhat fake", because Instagram and Facebook almost always show an embellished, "Fake life", where it is possible to leave any comment (most often insulting the person who published the post or wrote the comment. ..) without any sanction.
This is not the case here in Web3.
True, there is absolute freedom of speech, where everyone can write whatever they want, there is no possibility of banning, cancellation of orders by the company owner, no targeted advertisements and eavesdropping, but also, there is Reputation, which can be very easily destroyed if you publish inappropriate content or insult someone...
I understand her interests, she likes to be a "Voyeur" on social networks and is afraid to leave comments precisely because she doesn't get someone who would insult her...
But she has no interest in writing her own posts, posts from trips where she spends time, her thoughts, to be involved in commenting - everything that I want here...
She tells me:
"You waste a lot of time writing the posts you publish, why are you installing some AI bot that can write compositions for you on the topic you assign to it".
She barely accepted my answer:
"I don't use AI help, not because on Hive using AI is not an acceptable option, but because I like to write the content I post in my own words. I don't need someone to think for me."
True, a lot of time goes into writing some text, but
I don't want to use AI as a help in what I like to do, but as a help and replacement in what I really don't like.
Yesterday I watched a clip in some news, how robotics is progressing, where a robot makes Origami with its precise artificial grippers.
Well, isn't making origami there for the purpose of calming the nerves and enjoying creating small paper figures. 🙂
What do robots do for us?
And what can we need and use them for?
I like to cook, I don't need the help of AI and robots for that.
I like to drive a car when I go on some trips, I don't need the help of an AI autopilot.
The only thing I don't like is driving to and from work every day, because of the big crowds.
That's why, while I'm writing this post, I'm using the service of our "semi-automatic driver", our colleague Marko 🙂, the driver of the bus that drives us to and from work 😁
That's where I find time for Hive 🙂
I don't like mowing the grass in the yard.
That's why I'm going to consider getting some smart lawnmower that can cut across a 10-acre lawn without my command and control.
I don't like vacuuming. That's why I'm looking for a suitable robot/vacuum cleaner.
I am looking for a vacuum cleaner robot that, with the help of AI, will provide me with additional free time for taking photos, coming up with texts for those photos, which I will publish as my blogs.
I'm looking for a robot, which will provide me with half an hour of extra time every day, doing for me those jobs that I don't like to do, but I'm forced to do every day.
Let the first in the series be: a vacuum cleaner.
AI for writing compositions and creating images, I leave to someone less creative or people of younger generations.
I built my personality and creativity before PCs were available, let alone artificial intelligence.
Well, I can manage without it, for what gives me pleasure in life to do.
For what I don't like, I will seek the help of new generations...
I completely agree with you. I believe AI should come in to take care of those responsibilities we just don't enjoy doing. I think it's actually not cool for a writer to write with AI I mean if you can't sit and create something wonderful then you are not a writer.
It is still mostly used for entertainment among users (in the wider population), but it is entering wider use among young people, who limit their imagination and creativity, using AI for creative works.
I'm really glad Hive completely frowns at it. If not by now, most users would have completely let go of their imaginative skills
One of the differences between this network and the others is that they use many gadgets and psychological mechanisms that make them addicted.
So to stay mentally healthier we stay here, on Web3.
greetings.
How much information about us has been collected since the beginning of Web2...
When I just think of the advertisements I am bombarded with as soon as I open one of those application...
"Listen" to what we are talking about and immediately offer all products and services. How much money they took thanks to their users (ie, thanks to us), selling knowledge about us and our habits. It is horrible...
Since I've been on Web3, it seems like I've started breathing again.
Aand that the one cent that they took from the data about me that they further traded, now I take, as a reward for a comment or post, shared story, experience or photo...
