Is this European soccer? I must admit that this is something I don't follow much here in the US. I think I've heard of Manchester, but that was Manchester United and I can't tell the difference between united and city. Lol

Yeah, football as we in Europe call it. Our preference for sports often develops from the familiarity of those that are commonly played and enjoyed in our local environment.
