I don't think there is anything opay can do about this.. He need to contact is bnk first
Since he sent the money and it failed on his end. He should contact customer care. It will be reversed if he or she was debited.

Since u said it's writing fail from ur end I feel thats also an issue
You should probably ask for a receipt from him or a screenshot of the sent transaction, so you can reach out to Opay using the transaction ID.
