The Law

I was told you were supreme,
that no wrong did with you goes unpunished.

I was told you were keen,
and precise and right.
That no man, king or ruler was above you dictate,
no one could question you.

I learnt with time as I grew that you had minions,
who inflicted your wrath and directed judgement.

I trusted you and believed,
I believed in something greater than me.
And I am played the fool.
