So yeah the last like 15-ish chapters have been utterly intense and yeah, I'm beginning to understand why I liked this book so much. This book is just magical and exciting and even thought provoking and clever! Too awesome.

After Nasuada is captured Eragon is then assigned to be the leader of the Varden. Eragon struggles with this which is understandable.

This book continuously refers to Nasuada like some epic leader and an all-wise unquestionable force. Ugh. Just endlessly awkward to me. I guess her whole thing is simply 'she learned her skills from her father' and yeah that makes her the most qualified and wicked smart. Yeah.... Eragon further says 'oh wow this is such a a hard job being the leader, Nasuada had to deal with so much!' Like dude. You're literally the only good rider in Alagaësia. You're job is harder and now that you're the leader of the Varden you're job is twice as difficult than it ever was for Nasuada.... Nasuada is cool, and competent and ultimately a nice person but idk, she is glorified a bit much. I don't know the story just has Nasuada simply exist and we are supposed to just trust her for kinda no apparent reason and it's just hard to really express it without rambling.

Anyway, the way Eragon deals with the pressures of not only leading the Varden, but also the responsibility of trying to defeat the practically unbeatable combo of Murtagh and Galbatorix, was pretty rough. Definitely felt for the dude. Life is hard HA. I'm not fighting dragons or magic but pretty relatable to an extent. Yikes.

Eragon meeting and talking with Solembum was really an interesting scene. I'm happy Eragon is getting a bit more confrontational when needed both with Elva and now Solembum. But yeah that whole scene was magical and deep! The Rock of Kuthian is just mind-blowingly mysterious.

When Eragon discusses the Rock of Kuthian and realizes the insane magic that is associated with it that makes pretty much everyone forget it's existence, that was nuts too. Pretty clever piece of magic, and powerful of course.

It's an intriguing idea the more you ponder it, like you can see a vision others can't, but once it's real/revealed everyone believes you? Idk LOL.

Anyway, Glaedr's got some serious anger issues it seems. He's also old, Oromis just died and yeah he's now got to deal with essentially being a rock and not a full on flying dragon. I think I'd be a bit grumpy too. But it is intriguing and makes me wonder about moralities good and bad and perspective etc.... Like I really wonder who led Eragon to The Rock of Kuthian.... I'm starting to get some ideas but idk yet... There's a lot of mystery all over right now.

Wild couple of chapters! I wonder if we ever figure out who left these clues for Eragon and left the enchantments that made people forget. Maybe it's just Angela. Or her mentor, whatever his name was. Or someone very obvious....
