"Inheritance" - Chapters 13-16 - My Thoughts

MANY Spoilers

Chapters Read:

  • No Honor, No Glory, Only Blisters in Unfortunate Places
  • Mooneater
  • Rumors and Writing
  • Aroughs

These chapters were fun and a bigger breath of fresh air in comparison to the prior chapters I read.

Roran continues to be relentless and unwavering in any task he's given. What a beast, words can't describe this guy. He's really a straight up alpha male in every sense of the term.

The Urgals and Kull continue to show just how powerful they can be. They are really quite capable in many ways, I am pretty fascinated by them. I feel like they have a lot of untapped potential.

It's cool that Eragon apparently can hold his own against Arya at times which is decent enough to hear. I thought he was starting to get a little soft there for awhile, he still needs some leveling up I feel. If I remember right, he gets humbled one more time vs Murtagh later in this book but we shall see. Ultimately Eragon being flawed and beatable does make this more realistic. I have to remember that Eragon became a Rider only recently. Everyone in the magical world is much more experienced so I actually do appreciate that it's realistic.

But yeah, Roran seems to have hatched another plan. He is now about to take a whole city after his home was taken from him. Pretty wild stuff. I'm not familiar with mills and whatnot so the explanations are a bit confusing but after some googling I generally have an idea what's going on.

I don't remember too much of the events that are happening, it's almost like reading this book for the first time, pretty awesome.

Reading this series as an older person, it's really wild. The real world has really smacked me around since I first read this series years ago. I don't want to play the victim of course I am often a really bad decision maker. Ugh. Whatever. The point of why I'm saying this is because reading this series is truly like a dive into a nicer and more fun place. Nowadays when I read this, it's like the wholesomeness is kinda overwhelming. It's like I don't know if I deserve to feel such nice feelings. It's hard to explain.

But I'm glad these books exist.
