Eldest, Chapters 61-64

Roran's challenges only continue, this time he's literally fighting an OCEAN. He and the entire town of Carvahall slipped past a darn WHIRLPOOL. It was fun to track his journey on the Alagaesia map. I remember as a kid I wondered if the books would take us to each and every town on the map. I'm kind of glad it didn't. Again, this just makes it more wondrous and also realistic.

Eragon then finally journeys all the way to Surda and it is pretty cool that Eragon finally gets to be free again and show society just how much he has progressed. People treat him with more respect than he did even prior to leaving, which is cool.

The battle is imminent and in a way, it feels abrupt but then again Eragon has to meet various people and do a TON of prep work. The battlefield environment is suuuuper cool. The Burning Plains just seem super spooky. A proper place to do battle frankly, especially to kick off a war. The sheer numbers of soldiers Galbatorix has is stunning.

All the prep work is a bit exhausting to read but only slightly. My fingers feel how close I am to the apex and I just want to get to the action. But I do know that the more suspense and plot that develops, the more amazing the ending will be.

I know that Eragon and Saphira are set to meet Murtagh and Thorn I believe the dragon's name is, but I have zero clue exactly how it all shakes out. I CAN'T WAIT. I also am curious to see how Roran shows up. I think it's very slick that Paolini waits and waits for the big reveal. I guess this is common in most books but, I still think it's done well in Eldest.

So many things are happening at once and I just can't standdddd it.

I know the ending is going to be just beautiful though. This story is just a serious treat.
