"Brisingr" - Chapters 37-40 - My Thoughts

These chapters were just soothing, and nice. It's so nice to read simply pleasant fantasy sometimes. As I've said multiple times, I really enjoy reading from Saphira's perspective.

Stories written well, are so shockingly powerful. I honestly have only read so many books in my life, so I obviously can't speak for literature as a whole here, but yeah this series does feel quite powerful in my opinion. Perhaps it's a mixture of being very deep into the series now, and Paolini improving but yeah, these chapters felt really quite epic. Epic is a word used a lot willy nilly but I got goosebumps several times throughout these four chapters, not even usual goosebumps but like warm goosebumps if that makes sense. Pretty wild. Words can be powerful for sure.

I mean these chapters had it all. Orik became king, Saphira and Eragon reunited, the ceremony for Orik to become King was seriously next level. Frankly the entire 'Ascension' chapter was seriously next level fantasy. One of my favorites in the series for sure. I love the mysterious power dwarves seem to have, that whole scene gave me goosebumps for sure. Then when Saphira finally mended the Star Sapphire with the Dwarves singing and everything, sheesh that was just so amazing. Finally, a major event from 'Eragon' was tied up. Bravo. The definition of satisfying. Thinking back on this chapter and how it's called 'Ascension', it's really quite perfect. Incredibly clever.

All in all, these chapters felt like I was really there. That's what good writing and fantasy does I guess.

These chapters were so great, I know I'm about to get slapped in the face big time soon, especially if memory serves me correctly....
