An entirely off grid solar setup costs about $35k to $40k for a Single family residence in our area. Whereas if you lease it or go with a lease to own kind of deal with a local company like Sunrun via Costco then its between $12k to 20k.

the.full.monty I was going to ask the size, good thing I read the comments first, lol. So all you need to do is add batteries if necessary and you are good to go for a few days? I know that being self sustaining in this way is a great burden lifted. Thanks for sharing

Are you powering it through solar? How many kwh is that setup? Does the excess power go back to the Grid or are you Grid free? I was looking into Tesla batteries

Yes through solar I've got 6.4 kw solar panels which will produce 32.5 kw a day on a sunny day I have 3 5.2 kw lithium ion server rack batteries which will store 15.5 kw of power I have 2 eg4 6500 inverters running parallel combined to give me 2 phase 240 volts it's running my whole house that is 7000 square feet but my house I built it out of icf it's super insulated and energy efficient I'm only using 18kwh a day so my system doesn't needd to be that big
