Drawing the Riverboat Captain for the Splinterlands Art Contest

There were many things to consider when I took on the quest for this sketch. The reference I chose was a live one and I so far so good haven’t dealt with coloring a live reference. Another twist to this was the fact that the color scheme would be different as the skin tone of the Riverboat Captain was way different from that of the average human. Still I took on this task and trusted my guts and sense of artistry.
There was a lot of stops amidst the sketch and I totally forgot to take a picture of the original layout. I was very tensed and as such, I took my time and paid attention to every single detail.
