The staleTime didnt get exhausted before it started behaving that way
Check your local storage what’s happening. That’s where the cache is stored

Without adjusting gcTime, the default -minute window may discard the data, even if it's still within staleTime.
Oh makes sense then. I saw on stack overflow that it purged inactive queries. Not sure what that means but I think it’s what you explained.
