Had a great hike/dogwalk in the woods today. Came across my first wild Iris of the year, a blooming Vanilla Leaf Plant (white flower), and some Lupine that are just beginning to bloom.



I learned that when the Vanilla Leaf is dried it smells like vanilla and was used by native Americans and early settlers as type of air freshener or potpourri.
