Splinterlands: My entry into the Art competition - I Customized a Customization - Chaos Dragon ft. Rubiks Cube
Hello Community
I had fun again planning for this week's Splinterlands art contest. I tried to try out something different. In addition, Chaos Legion cards are out so I decided to draw one of the strongest, if not it is the strongest card in Chaos Legion...
Can you guess it?
Yep, it is Chaos Dragon. yes, it depends on the situation and Chaos Legion is not always the most useful in certain situations. Nonetheless it is one powerful card to use in 99 mana battles!
FINAL DRAWING - CHAOS DRAGON CUBE
here is a version with the Splinterlands Logo on it...
Youtube Timelapse video
I also recorded the drawing process and will be uploading the video on youtube. This is the link to the timelapse video of how this art was created.

Now I will go into detail of how I created the drawing:
Process - CHAOS DRAGON
Step 1: Drawing on the Rubiks Cube
If you go through the video, it will show you what I used to draw and how I draw on the Rubiks Cube. I used 2B pencils and color pens to create the drawing on the Cube. However, the pencil and color pens do not work too well on the smooth surface of the Cube. So I had to stick paper on it. Even with that it did not come out well.
Hence, I decided to bring the image into Krita and work on the drawing...
Step 2: Initial prepation
The first step was to outline the gaps in the Rubiks Cube and Establish the lighting and shadow so that I can start a digital drawing on the Cube.
Step 3: Refining Chaos Dragon Drawing.
This is where I want to make it look like the Chaos Draong is moving out of the Cube, like the Cube is some sort of other dimension and the Chaos Dragon is getting out.
Step 4: Adding the Splinterlands Logo and Chaos Legion Logo
A Chaos Dragon cant just come out of a random Cube right? It has to come out of a Splinterlands Chaos Region Cube.
Now it is time to add other special effects to make it look cooler...
Step 5: Adding special effects
Now it is looking more like a magical Cube where Chaos Dragons and other Dragons would come out from...
However, the background needs to be updated now.
Step 6: Update Background
Yes, it needs to be in some magical background where there is some fancy land and sky. That is the final drawing.
Anyways, that is it for the Process. Hope you enjoyed the Post.
The card images and banners/dividers are from @splinterlands and @flauwy. They are awesome and lightens up a Post.
