Orthodox philosophy: An ancient way of dealing with uncertainties in life

For many, the world is in constant turmoil, which may be difficult for some to deal with, but can the philosophy of Stoicism help to endure such difficult times?

It was a very difficult life for them. He was born into slavery, at one point his master broke his leg, leaving him paralyzed. Eventually he found freedom, he spent the next 25 years pursuing his hobby. The only purpose of which was to make all their efforts illegal by a dictator. They fled abroad, and spent the rest of their lives in exile and poverty.

This biographical sketch is about the life of the Greek philosopher Epictetus who was born around 55 AD. He was a philosopher who proposed the theory of 'Stoicism'. However, historians differ on his life.

We cannot say for sure whether he was born a slave, or just a young slave. It is clear that such a life was not easy for them. It was not easy. Nor was their world calm enough to predict their lives.
