Water colour painting of Lagos traffic on a raining day.
Hi guys!
How are y'all doing? It's been really hot here after the harmattan season in January and early February. This year's weather seemed quite different from the previous years. I remember then as a kid who wasn't familiar with the calculation of the months in a year, I only know when it's December because of the harmattan that comes with it.
But lately, I've noticed that so many things have changed over the years and the most obvious in all is the harmattan season this year which started seriously in January and stopped early February. Since then, we've been faced with a very harsh weather, so hot that most people go out of their shelter to find shade elsewhere. I can't wait for it to start raining heavily again.
About the traffic in Lagos Nigeria on a raining day.. It's an experience no one would love to face cause words can't describe how annoying it is. I painted this picture after an ugly experience I had some year ago where I was stucked in traffic for about 7hours,. The picture depicts a mini view of what the traffic in some places in Lagos look like especially on a raining day. It was painted with water colours on a cardboard paper.
I would have loved to take you through the process but it's a painting I did long time ago and I've lost images of the process.. I was so surprised to find these ones I posted here while glancing through some of my old artworks earlier today..
There's a huge story about the life in Lagos on this art piece and you can't understand it better except you have lived or still living in Lagos. Feel free to share your experience on the comment section..
Thanks friends for stopping by!
Stay tuned for my next post, bye for now🤝
