Titans selected Arkansas Guard Fernando Carmona Jr. #142 Overall in 2026 NFL Draft
The Titans make the always wise decision to deepen their offensive line with their first of two fifth round selections. The offensive line was actually fairly respectable for stretches in 2025-26 but, like most areas of this Titans team, it could certainly be better. In addition, the Titans must keep QB Cam Ward intact to the best of their ability and the run game in general was a bit underwhelming last year.
Drafting offensive lineman can be tricky at times because most decent prospects look good at the position. But if they end up not being good enough, the whole offense suffers.
Fernando Carmona Jr. has good balance, mobility and athleticism. This likely comes from him having played tight end in his past. Carmona Jr. is also known to play with a nasty, aggressive edge. This personality may be a welcome addition to the offensive line as while the Titans' offensive line played a bit better last year, there isn't much energy to them. Peter Skoronski and JC Latham seem more like chill dudes rather than the fiery types. Carmona says he likes to be in the phone booth of the line of scrimmage going toe to toe with defensive lineman, that competitive spirit is awesome. I bet practices with him and Jeffery Simmons will get spicy!
Carmona Jr. is 6'5", 316 pounds so he's got plenty of size. In addition to playing tight end in high school, he has several years of playing left tackle in college under his belt before switching to guard last year. So he's definitely got great experience and versatility!
He seems like a great fit, welcome to the squad Fernando!
