Titans got obliterated by the Commanders Sunday... UGH
I mean, where to even begin. The Titans got OWNED by the Commanders on Sunday and I was pretty upset not even going to lie. After such a solid win the previous week, the team immediately regressed back to their old ways if not WORSE. The Commanders were on pace to score like a hundred points on the Titans for a minute there! Sure, the Titans bounced back in a mild manner but, probably only because the Commanders got bored and a SMIDGE complacent.
Every phase of the ball was poo. Special teams is AWFUL, the defense was AWFUL. I mean, I can't emphasize the word awful enough. Truly some of the worst football I have seen since the Patriots destroyed the Titans years ago in the snow.
The defense and special teams are the most to blame. I need to see special teams coach Colt Anderson fired yesterday!!! The guy is absolutely insanely bad at coaching. Frankly, the whole coaching staff seems bad but, I also don't know how talented this team is. But if there is one coach who stands out at being horrible it is Colt Anderson.
I notice a lot of Titans fans are defending Will Levis and I get that, he is not really on top of the list of people to blame for this loss but I still have some questions. He has looked better, but I still am unsure about him man. There's just a billion question marks about him. He is pretty good physically, but I still question his feel for the game, and his football IQ. He also seems more interested in brand deals and off the field stuff. My opinion overall on Levis is improving, but not rapidly. Other phases of the ball were surely more to blame, but it would have been nice to see the offense STAY ON THE FIELD. Give the defense a break and a chance to recover after getting MAULED by Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense. The defense could not catch their breath.
My brain is just mush when it comes to the Titans. I got my hopes up and even had the audacity to contemplate a miraculous playoff run. I suppose if they were to still win out, maybe they could sneak in. But I just don't think that's too wise. The team is progressing, I think. If they are, it is at a snail's pace. If they improve at this rate, I don't even think 2025 will be much better. 2026, maybe.
I don't want to doubt my team, I try to be supportive I really do. But this team makes it HARD. That game was really hard to watch.
The rest of the the season will be interesting. The draft will be interesting.
In fact even next week's game against Jacksonville will be interesting. I guess if there's anything this era of Titans football offers, it's just something to whine about LOL. Grim entertainment.
But like I said, no matter how long it takes, this journey back to relevancy will be fun. Growing up, I never thought I'd see the day the Lions were a serious monstrous powerhouse, and it happened.
I'll be here whining, and cheering through it all.
