To finish out April of 2026, the Phillies ended the month on a very fun, positive, even historical note. They swept the San Francisco Giants in a home doubleheader. Both wins were WALK-OFFS, the second of which was in extras. The doubleheader walk-off is a feat that hasn't been accomplished in 22 years, when the Pittsburgh Pirates did it on May 28th, 2004. Both Pennsylvania teams, pretty cool. 2004 is 22 years ago.... let that sink in! The sweep also completed the series sweep. This accomplishment was a fun, hopeful way to end what was a fairly notable month in Phillies history. 10-game losing streak, Rob Thomson firing. It's an April Phillies fans won't forget.

In the first Phillies game on Thursday, it was largely a strong pitcher's duel between Logan Webb of the Giants, and Cristopher Sánchez of the Phillies. Webb pitched seven innings allowing just a single run. The single run came off of a solo shot by Kyle Schwarber, his 10th of the season. But more importantly for Schwarber it was his 350th homer of his career! Schwarber hit 350 in the seventh fewest games ever. Webb pitched a shade better than Sánchez who allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings. All the runs in this game were scored in the first and final innings which is pretty wild. In the bottom of the ninth Bryson Stott triples home Adolis García. Then Justin Crawford singles Stott home for the walk-off victory, it's the rookie Crawford's second walk-off hit of the season!

It was a bullpen game for the Phillies in Game 2 and they managed to pitch just good enough in the 6-5 victory. This game featured back-to-back homers by Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber. Schwarber want 4 for 4 and the team had nine hits! Bryce Harper walked three times. In the bottom of the 9th Scwarber drove in Brandon Marsh with a double that tied the game! Then, Alec Bohm who was ultimately hitless, had a massively productive out in the bottom of the 10th, that productive out produced a win! He drove in Adolis García on a sacrifice fly to center, completing the doubleheader walk-off!

Yesterday the Phillies were in Miami. Zack Wheeler made his second start of the season and looked really good. He pitched six innings allowing just a single run. The bullpen almost blew a five-run lead starting as late as the eighth inning but they just managed to hold on. Bryson Stott and Alec Bohm were notably helpful which is good as they've been two main guys struggling on this team. Stott hit a three-run shot, his first of the season! Bohm went 2 for 4 with an RBI. The Phillies win 6-5 for a second straight game.

Tonight the Phillies game didn't go too well, but more on that later.
