Taking a Look at Titans' Fifth Round Draft Pick Jarvis Brownlee Jr. - Cornerback Louisville + Two Madden Games

In the fifth round of the NFL Draft the Titans chose Louisville cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. Brownlee also played at Florida State during his first three collegiate seasons.

The Titans secondary has been insanely injury prone and overall has just not been as sharp as it should be in recent years. The Titans did address this need by signing L'Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie this offseason but adding Brownlee is pretty wise in my opinion.

Sneed and Awuzie are awesome additions, but they're newcomers with fresh contracts, you just never know how they'll respond. I'm not too worried about Sneed or Awuzie's ages but you've still got to be ready for the future. Corner is a very athletic, speed reliant position.

Besides Sneed and Awuzie the Titans next best corner, perhaps even second best above Awuzie, would be Roger McCreary. Tre Avery is a solid enough corner but, nothing to really get too pumped on.

All in all, there's absolutely a need for depth at corner. Brownlee simply seems like a DAWG to me. Does not appear to have a lot of elite traits but I'd say his competitiveness and physicality are pretty good and noticeable. Good instincts, seems to be a natural football player that enjoys hitting. It seems that the Titans may want to use Brownlee at nickel which makes sense.

With a good mix of vets to learn from, Brownlee might end up thriving in Nashville!
