Spencer Howard Rookie Baseball Card 2021 Topps Chrome

Spencer Howard didn't do much for the Phillies but, this is still a fun little flashback. Five years ago today, as this card points out, pitcher Spencer Howard made his pro debut. Covid year, can't believe that was five years ago. Goodness.

Spencer only lasted 4 and 2/3 innings and the Phillies got smoked that day. 8-0 by the Braves. Unfortunate. Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Braves homered twice. Despite his struggles in the MLB, Howard has been able to earn a living playing baseball out in Japan, good for him!

It is wild to see how much the roster has changed. McCutchen is a Pirates legend, but the fact he played for the Phillies makes him a straight up PA legend and I think that's super cool.

I tried to look up box office charts for this day and Covid made this a bit complicated. Theaters were straight up closed for just about six months in most places. Movies seem to have returned to theaters at the end of August and so the closest movie that was big was Christopher Nolan's 'Tenet' which came out a few weeks after Spencer's debut.

All I remember about Tenet was that is was insanely confusing, but full of great action. I am a fan of Nolan but this one was beyond me!
