Sixers Suffer Seventh Straight loss in a Stunner at the Buzzer vs Brooklyn | Set to face the Bulls tonight
Much more of the same for the Sixers on Saturday and this season is starting to feel pretty much hopeless. The Sixers have now lost two in a row to the Nets within a relatively short time span after they lost to the Nets on the twelfth. They lost in brutal fashion too with a ridiculous, but impressive tip-in buzzer beater at the end of the game by the Nets' Nic Claxton. It was pretty cinematic, but tragic as a Sixers fan.
The loss dropped the Sixers behind the Nets and into the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers seem to have an equal chance at getting the number one draft pick as they do of making the play-in. I'm definitely starting to wonder what direction the franchise is looking to go in, it is a critical time period I believe. Keep hoping Embiid bounces back, or try and start a new chapter.
Lonnie Walker IV didn't score a single point in his debut unfortunately. Maybe tonight he will have shaken off some cobwebs and be a bit more comfortable.
As a consolation, the Sixers do play the Bulls this evening who are still clinging to the tenth seed, but the Sixers aren't too far back at the end of the day. This has been a rough start from the All-Star break, but these final handful of months are going to be looked at under a microscope for sure, hopefully the team is making assessments. I wonder how much the Sixers are really looking to fight.
Paul George needs to step up, Embiid needs to show up, Lonnie Walker IV should look to contribute more. Embiid has been playing more recently, so maybe something will click for him soon we shall see.
