Sixers are victorious vs Mavs, fall short vs the Nets | Sixers in Chicago tonight

The Sixers were winners against Cooper Flagg, Anthony Davis and the Mavs on Saturday. Flagg and Davis combined for 48 points, but Tyrese Maxey and V.J. Edgecombe combined for 64. It was a well played game by both teams but Edgecombe gets the win over Flagg for their first matchup of their careers.

The Sixers remain a bit inconsistent though as on Tuesday they lost to one of the weaker teams in the league in the Brooklyn Nets DESPITE Maxey, Embiid, and George all playing. It was actually surprisingly Maxey who underperformed on that night. He was 3-14 scoring just 13. George had 19 and Embiid had 27. Had Maxey had his typical high scoring night I'm sure the Sixers would have prevailed in the 8 point loss. Michael Porter Jr. of the Nets led all scorers with 28.

Tonight the Sixers are in The Windy City to face the Bulls, with the big three all available. On November 4th the Sixers suffered a devastating defeat against the Bulls when they blew a massive lead to lose on a game winner. Hopefully tonight they get some payback!

The 16-12 Sixers are 5th in the East and in decent playoff position, the 14-15 Bulls are 10th, the lowest play-in spot. Standings are not immensely important right now but I love following them anyway, and we are a decent chunk of the way through the year.

It's cold and icy as we are finally in winter. We're in that weird post Christmas-pre New Year's gray area. Life is stressful but tonight I have my son and some good food. I get to watch the Sixers play on top of it. Not too shabby.

I hope this is a good game and victory!
