Roy Oswalt days until Phillies Baseball Returns! + A.D. Hammer RTTS Part 33
It's been awhile since I have written about the Phillies! The way the Titans and Sixers have played through the fall and winter, I really am missing watching the Phillies play on the diamond.
It's currently a snowy, wintry mess in the Philadelphia area and really throughout the entire state of Pennsylvania. It's hard to imagine pleasant baseball weather but, there are only 44 days until the first pitch of the regular season!
To celebrate these 44 days remaining why not remember former Phillie #44 Roy Oswalt!
I remember when Oswalt was signed in 2010 pretty vividly. It was a big deal considering how elite Oswalt was as a starting pitcher for the Astros over a full decade! The Phillies won the World Series only two seasons prior in 2008 and got to the World Series again the year prior in 2009 before losing to the Yankees. In summary, the Phillies were still very much elite and signing Oswalt was supposed to help the Phillies return to championship greatness. It didn't work out as planned for the Phillies in 2010, but the following season in 2011 the Phillies added Cliff Lee (again) and the Phillies looked prime to win it all since the Phillies boasted their 'Four Aces' in starting pitchers Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels, Cliff Lee, and of course Roy Oswalt. Once again, the Phillies failed to secure a World Series Championship but, it was still a dominant and fun season to watch and they did make the playoffs for a fifth straight season, a feat the Phillies accomplished for the first time in franchise history and a feat they have yet to replicate.
Oswalt only spent a season and a half in the City of Brotherly love, but here's some memorable highlights of his time spent in a Phillies uniform.

From 2010-2011 Oswalt appeared in 36 games for the Phillies and posted a 16-11 record and an excellent 2.96 ERA. He also hurled 166 strikeouts.
The current Phillies have made the playoffs three years in a row and while their current bullpen is not as great as the 'Four Aces' they do have a top three pitching staff in baseball. Let's hope the Phillies can finally win the whole thing in 2025! I am so ready. I hope to maybe take my son out to Philly somehow and see a game. That would just be lovely.
#GOPHILS!
