QB Malik Willis gets the start against the Seahawks - Titans 2024 Preseason Week 2
Malik Willis was once upon a time a huge topic of discussion for the Titans. The Titans drafted Malik in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft and he was the first QB the Titans had taken at a high enough round for people to actually care about. He never panned out up to this point and nowadays us fans are fully committed to the Will Levis era.
There's been plenty of reports that Malik has been looking good and well, the real question is how good. We get a better idea of how good tonight. This is a big night for Malik's football playing career in general. He seems locked in to be the team's QB3 and it is unlikely the team will keep three active QBs. I suppose Malik would stay on the practice squad. He seems well liked around the team. If he does somehow ball out and play really well, he could definitely knock on the door for a QB2 spot. It's possible. Mason Rudolph was signed on a one year deal and looks to be the team's backup for 2024. I'm intrigued to watch Malik get extended action.
It's very unlikely any starters will be playing tonight for the Titans.
But yeah this game seems like an inportant game to sort out position batles and depth charts. Gotta keep an eye out for linebackers and certain offensive line spots, particularly right tackle, for the Titans. Those seem like big question marks for the team as of now.
The league is not full of simply great draft picks and free agents. Good teams develop great depth and develop players, and evaluate. Games like this can be vital.
The Titans actually played the Seahawks in joint practices all week, so that may make this game a bit more interesting.
Big night of sports. With my son by my side it will be a good time!
