Phillies win fifth straight game after victory over Reds | Jesús Luzardo on the mound today
I've been a bit busy and burnt out but, the MLB season doesn't stop and the Phillies are absolutely on fire at the moment. Life may be kicking my butt, but it's at least nice to see that the Phillies are winning once again. I was worried for awhile that the Phillies winning ways were maybe on pause as the roster is aging slightly but now I have a feeling they'll be ok. I believe they'll likely make the playoffs once again but we aren't even technically in summer yet so there's a lot left in this journey.
Andrew Painter finally got through six innings which was great and he only allowed two runs too. This is his second consecutive decent start and this one was better than the previous as well. Maybe Painter is starting to figure it out a bit!
Bryson Stott had a massive go ahead two run shot in the eighth inning, that was clutch. He's now homered in two straight games and has five on the season. All of his five homers have come in the month of May. I never really was overly impressed by Stott's hitting ability but he's doing pretty well lately. Stott's career high for homers in a season is 15, maybe he'll surpass that this season. That'd be surprising for sure.
Jesús Luzardo is on the mound today which is basically a coin flip if I'm being honest, hopefully he can get his fourth win of the year.
#GOPHILLIES!!!
