The Phillies have split the first two in this long series against the Marlins.

Monday was a solid game for the boys as they won 5-2. Trea Turner homered on the second pitch of the game which was fun to see. Max Kepler joined him later in the game with an absolute bomb of a home run, his ninth on the season. Alec Bohm continues to produce in a big way, as he drove in two runs as well. Pitching wise, it was a strong collective effort. Mick Abel got through five innings of work and later Orion Kerkering got his first save of his MLB career which is pretty interesting. I have always been a fan of Kerkering and thought he'd be a good closer, turns out the Phillies are starting to think that as well which is cool to see!

Yesterday's game didn't go so great. Luzardo pitched for the Phils and he had a pretty underwhelming outing against his former team. The Phils could only produce three runs themselves in the 8-3 loss. The Marlins played well, but they had some awkward runs in there, weird hits, and just strange situations. They obviously hit a few balls hard but, I think the Phillies should be ok moving forward in this series. Some positives from that game included Trea Turner homering again for the second consecutive game, and Brandon Marsh extending his hit streak to eight games! Love to see Marsh play well.

I really feel like Turner has got to be a darhorse MVP contender at this point in the season. He's got a .308 batting average, 9 homers, and 19 stolen bases. He leads the league with 90 hits as well. I suppose if he were a bit sharper as a fielder, maybe his case would be stronger but, he's still having quite the year.

Suárez on the mound for this pretty big game three of this series. The Phils gotta win this one if they want to win the series. Looking forward to a relaxing night of ball!
