The Phillies lost last night and the moment the game was over, the Phillies lost their chances at the NL #1 seed. But they are locked in at #2 and seem ready to roll for October 4th. During the downtime, the team is going to have a team game in order to stay warm that will include calling up some minor leaguers.

Ranger Suárez had a rough outing in several ways last night. He allowed nine hits and three earned runs before getting drilled with a line drive in the fourth inning. Ranger was clearly feeling the pain, and the Phillies took him out immediately afterwards. No sense in playing tough guy in a pretty meaningless game. The ball hit him in the thigh and is apparently not too serious. The bats were utterly silent as well as the boys got shut out.

But yes that marks another season in the history books. It has been a real treat to write about the Phillies all year long. In some ways, it's a huge personal accomplishment. Lets hope the boys get win number 96 today. Cristopher Sánchez seeks his 14th win.

I'm a bit distracted by football today but still wanted to get something out! It's so nice the Phillies are good to distract me from these Titans LOL.
