Phillies lose sixth straight game... | Jesús Luzardo on the mound tonight
Well the Phillies were threatening early yesterday but they ultimately couldn't do anything with the bases loaded. The Cubs found themselves in a similar situation the very next inning but took full advantage of it with a four run second inning. Aaron Nola is looking a lot like 2025 Aaron Nola once again... I'm really getting concerned about him. I feel as if he might be washed. He looks like a fourth starter in a rotation rather than a second that many thought he would have been.
Offensively, the Phillies are averaging less than two runs a game in the past six games. They have scored two or less for five straight games. It's just gross offense.
The Phillies are now 8-14. That's a crazy thing to type honestly. I don't know how the Phillies can fix this situation except by just simply playing better.
It would be nice to ask more from the pitching. The pitching is less of a problem than the offense, but I'm mostly saying the pitching should be better simply to get a win. Simply to throw this sad offense a bone. Basically I'm hoping for a great pitching performance as a form of pity. Simply because this offense is pitiful.
Now, the pitching has been bad often too. It's not at all a night and day difference between pitching and hitting but yeah.
Jesús Luzardo has to be better starting tonight. He has been pretty much just as bad as Taijuan Walker this season.
Mathematically speaking, the Phillies really need to fight, starting tonight. I don't know if they are overthinking or what but they just gotta lock in and start being pros.
I'm very happy they are giving Felix Reyes another shot tonight! Lets see what the Phillies got. Gotta start somewhere, why not tonight?
